Milton Keynes

Who we are

Launched in 2010, Citizens:mk is a growing alliance of diverse community groups – churches, mosques, schools and others – working together for a thriving, inclusive and fairer Milton Keynes.

Current member institutions are:

Church of Christ the Cornerstone
MK Council of Faiths
MK Deanery
MK Green Alliance
MK Muslim Association
MK Quaker Meeting
MK Seventh Day Adventist Church
MK YMCA
Open University
Southwood Primary School
St. Frideswide’s Church
Stantonbury Ecumenical Partnership

Using the methods and tools of community organising, our goal is to build a powerful civil society alliance that will work with all sectors of society for the common good of Milton Keynes.  We do this by training people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds to take action together for change. Citizen:mk’s strategy is determined by a local Leadership Group.

Our wins to date include: Bus Passengers Charter (2015), New car restrictions outside Southwood School (2016), 50 Living Wage employers (2017), 50 civil society organisations in Weaving Trust for MK's 50th (2017), 250+ improvements to MK Redways (2018), Six Refugees Welcome schools (2018), Plastic free school canteen (2019)...
