Oxford Citizens

Who are we?

We are Oxford Citizens. We founded as an alliance in 2023. Hundreds of people form our alliance from faith institutions, schools and colleges, universities, and community groups. Together, we organise to overcome injustice and win change on the things that you and your local communities care about most.

What are we fighting for?

The priority issues voted on by members in our community are:

  • Transport – especially on buses – to become more affordable for young people
  • Safety issues at Fry’s Hill Park to be addressed, particularly for Asylum Seekers residing nearby

Want to join our alliance?

We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them and we're always looking for new members to join us!

Get in touch with our local organiser Sebastien Chapleau - seb.chapleau@citizensuk.org -and fill out our form below to hear updates from our alliance.

Oxford Citizens member institutions have gathered evidence about the impact of transport costs on young people and families.

We heard from students, parents and carers, community members and youth groups across Oxford and the surrounding areas. This report reflects the experiences of people across our city and recommendations to ensure transport is more accessible.
