Our podcast

Everyday People Making Change

Our podcast tells stories of faith leaders, students, teachers and other people who took power back into their own hands through community organising. Together, they overcame injustice and won change on issues that matter: from winning millions of pounds in mental health funding, to convincing Nando's to introduce halal food, and asking City Airport to pay all its workers a real Living Wage.

In the world as it is, communities are too often shut out from decisions, and not involved in finding the best solution to local issues. But these stories prove that everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them by taking action together for the common good.

Our podcast is hosted by colleagues from across Citizens UK, including Jonathan Cox, Deputy Director; Dilraj Kaur, Community Organiser and Sylvie Pope, Digital Engagement Manager. The host panel is completed by Dr Jason Pandya-Wood, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Nottingham, Malaysia.

As well as telling remarkable campaign stories, these episodes explain tools and techniques that anyone can use to start making change!

With thanks to Jo Duckles, Acting Public Relations Manager for World Vision UK, former journalist and editor of Citizens UK's Everyday People Making Change podcast.
