Co-sign our letter to Housing Minister Robert Jenrick so no homeless person is left behind in the pandemic

Homeless people across the UK are at risk of losing emergency temporary accommodation and returning to the streets.

While the Government have reinforced their aim to support homeless people after contract for temporary accommodation services end, the extending of housing support will only be available to those who qualify for welfare benefits.

Thousands of homeless people who are currently housed in hotels around the country don't have access to public funds (No Recourse to Public Funds). This means they can't access vital services like Universal Credit and key parts of the NHS.

Citizens UK leaders are campaigning to ensure that no homeless person, regardless of their immigration status, is left behind during the pandemic.

You can join us by co-signing this letter to Housing Minister Robert Jenrick, calling for an urgent meeting to discuss solutions to prevent thousands of people losing their temporary homes and returning to the streets.

István, a homeless person currently in temporary housing in Leicester, says:

"After many years I have my own place, I don't share it with anyone. I have a bathroom and small kitchen and a bedroom. My fridge has food from donations I get and I can cook for myself. This is temporary, I don't know how long for I have this, and I'm worried about going back out onto the street s."
