Pathways to Engineering with Atkins

A 6-month programme for students interested in a career in the engineering sector. Students participate in workshops delivered by a cross-disciplinary team of Atkins engineers and tackle real-life planning, rail, infrastructure and transportation projects. All participants who graduate from the programme can apply for work experience opportunities and Level 3 apprenticeships at Atkins.

  • Training programme for 150 Year 12/13 students
  • Opportunity to apply for a 1-2-week work experience placement at Atkins
  • Support to apply for Level 3 and Level 6 apprenticeships at Atkins
  • 1 x Introduction session in school/college
  • 3 x Engineering skills workshops with Atkins engineers
  • 2 x Employability skills training with Citizens UK and J.P. Morgan
  • 1 x Pitching competition and award ceremony

You will have support from:

  • A Community Sponsor within the school/college for guidance throughout the programme and to support with the self-directed learning
  • A dedicated Programme Officer at Citizens UK who will be your main point of contact should any issues arise.
