Citizens UK: Birmingham

Who are we?

We are Citizens UK Birmingham, a Citizens UK Chapter. Hundreds of people have united to form our alliance, from Birmingham's faith, education, trade union and community sectors.

Together, we organise to overcome injustice and win change on the things that you and your local communities care about most.

Since our founding in 2013, we have organised to:

  • Provide community organising training for over 300 local leaders
  • Ensure access to specialist mental health services for 16 to 17 year olds.
  • Establish local shops and community buildings as safe havens near schools.
  • Secure the backing of elected and business leaders persuading city’s employers to pay the Living Wage.
  • Support the resettlement of Syrian refugees from UN camps.
