"Fair Welcome, Fair Work" pledged at Accountability Assembly

158 people attended Citizens:mk’s annual Accountability Assembly at the City Church on 25th April 2019, representing 17 member institutions and many other MK organisations. Continue reading to find out what our highlights have been!

  • Headteachers and pupils called on the Area Police Commander to pledge more police officer time visiting their schools.  She agreed to implement, monitor, evaluate and report on increased Police presence in two primary schools over the coming year. 



  • Three schools and MK College were awarded "Refugee Welcome Schools" accreditation certificates and three other school headteachers pledged to sign up too.  The three main political party leaders agreed to formally approve a Community-led Sponsor Refugees scheme in north MK. 



  • The three main political party leaders also committed MK Council to maintaining a fair job application process and talking with contracting agencies about fair transparency and termination processes as outlined in a new Fair Work Charter.
