The Citizens UK Assembly on Monday sees a method first developed in depression-era Chicago catch up with the 21^st century.

Online social networking is no substitute for the face-to-face meetings (one-to-ones) which are the staple of community organising. Citizens UK is all about reweaving the fabric of society.

But once relationships are formed, social networking is a great way of maintaining and deepening relationships.
